The December edition of Songshine promises good cheer, inspiring talent, and a great time, as the programme welcomes back popular series veteran Sheldon Blackman.
Blackman is well known as a member of family band The Love Circle, whose Jamoo musical legacy has made waves at home and internationally. Performing since age five, he is a band leader, an accomplished composer, arranger, singer and musician in his own right. His dynamic and powerful performance style has made him a favourite.
Also making a cameo appearance at the show will be T&T-born writer Roger Bonair-Agard, ahead of his appearance at This is Us, at Central Bank Auditorium on December 3rd.
He has written several books of poetry, including Gully, Bury My Clothes and Where Brooklyn At?. Audiences have been wowed by his engaging delivery and his lyrical musings on Caribbean manhood (and more). Bonair-Agard is a father and bartender working in Chicago, USA.
The show will take place on Thursday, December 1st at Kafe Blue on Wrightson Road. Registration for open mic performers begins at 6pm, when doors open.
Admission costs $50. Info: 741-1569.
