Project Fusion Junction, a radical, transnational multimedia project, is open for applications from teenagers in T&T, Jamaica and Northern Ireland.
Through the project, forty-five teens (15 from each country) will work together to create a three-chapter graphic novel, to be released in both print and multimedia formats.
Project Fusion Junction was launched by Bocas Lit Fest at their 2025 festival in Trinidad and Tobago and will be executed in partnership with the Jamaica Book Festival and Fighting Words, Northern Ireland. The project is sponsored by the British Council.

A perfect opportunity for any teen passionate about graphic novels, anime, manga and other forms of multimedia storytelling, Project Fusion Junction will allow a diverse collective of aspiring teen writers, illustrators, musicians, musical performers, video, audio and animation creators the chance to collaborate on a shared story, told from different perspectives, experiences, interests and concerns.

The project will be conducted in-person and virtually through workshops and story creation sessions over a six-month period, starting in September 2025.
The teens will be mentored by significant adult figures in the literary and creative communities in each country. Representing literary fiction, crime writing, screenwriting, illustration, graphic design, and music, the creative professionals will work with each other to guide the young participants.
They will share ideas and skills from their respective careers to usher teens through their own creative explorations of topical themes, issues, and stories of importance to them in their home countries. The process will focus on imagination, new ideas, story creation, and the importance of collective cultural expression and exchange.

Project Fusion Junction also allows these creative experts to collaborate with each other across borders.
To be considered for participation in the project, teen applicants are invited to submit samples of their creative writing, visual art, music, music or audio performance, video, animation, creative ideas and/or expressions of interest.
Applicants must be citizens or residents of Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, or Northern Ireland; and able to commit to a 6-month project timeline, from September 2025 to March 2026 (approximately 10 to 12 workshops and sessions over 6 months).
