The Music Division of the Trinidad and Tobago Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (formerly MusicTT) congratulated all the winners and honourees at the 2024 Caribbean Music Awards.

The Awards took place on August 29, at the historic Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York, USA.

The Caribbean Music Awards, now in its second year, has firmly established itself as a premier event celebrating the rich and diverse musical heritage of the Caribbean.

The 2024 ceremony, themed “Voices of The Caribbean”, was a spectacular celebration of our region’s music and culture, showcasing the incredible talent that continues to emerge from the Caribbean.

“We are immensely proud of the accomplishments of our Trinidad and Tobago artistes on the global stage,” said Melissa Jimenez, general manager of the Music Division. “The success of our artistes at the Caribbean Music Awards underscores the strength and influence of our music within the broader Caribbean community and beyond. We are thrilled to see so many of our talented artistes recognised for their contributions to the industry.”

Trinidad and Tobago’s presence was strongly felt at this year’s awards, with several artistes taking home top honours:

• Video of the Year – Soca: Nailah Blackman & Skinny Fabulous

• Collaboration of the Year – Soca: Nailah Blackman & Skinny Fabulous

• Collaboration of the Year – Reggae: Shaggy & Kes

• Artiste of the Year – Soca: Patrice Roberts

In addition to these award winners, two of Trinidad and Tobago’s musical icons were honoured for their outstanding contributions to Caribbean music:

• Honouree – The Mighty Sparrow (Slinger Francisco): Celebrated for his enduring impact on Calypso music.

 Honouree – Chutney Awards: Ravi B (Ravi Bisshambar), recognised for his significant influence in the Chutney-Soca genre.

The event also featured electrifying performances from a diverse line-up of Caribbean artists, further cementing the Caribbean Music Awards as a vital platform for showcasing the region’s musical excellence.
