Ruth Osman’s performance as November’s Songshine headliner will go down as one of her most mature and self-possessed.

She showed herself an artist in control of her gifts, sharing them generously with her appreciative audience.
The show took place at Kafe Blue on Wrigtson Road and attracted a full house.
Singer, writer and flautist Osman will surely have felt at home, having performed at Songshine several times since the show’s inception in 2005. Also, she was accompanied by gifted guitarist Theron Shaw. The two have paired up onstage many times.
Together they sailed through lush and emotional originals, pretty jazz standards and a couple of calypsos given a fresh view. Osman’s thrilling vocals intertwined with Shaw’s imaginative runs, making their set a memorable treat.
Songshine’s open mic was graced by several singers, musicians, poets and writers, including Feroza, Wendell “Myztical” Moreau, Shanice Mc Millan and Burton Sankeralli.
The next edition of Songshine at Kafe Blue will feature Sheldon Blackman and will take place on Thursday, December 1st.
