In our second installment of the Express Xvibes Youth Entrepreneur Series, circled Queen’s Hall Garden Sanctuary, where HOTT93 FM and event powerhouse Island Crashers teamed up to host a vibrant Youth Vendor Market. Among the standout participants was Talissa Didier, a 19-year-old veterinary student who’s mixing passion and purpose through her dessert brand, Sweet.TreatsTT.
Q&A with Talissa Didier – Founder of Sweet.TreatsTT
1. How long has Sweet.TreatsTT been in operation?
I officially started on September 6, 2020, during the pandemic. It began as a fun hobby that turned into something much more.
2. What inspired you to start this business?
Baking was always something I loved. It started with watching and helping my mom and grandmother. A family friend who loved my desserts offered to pay for them — that’s when I realized I could turn this into a business. I’m self-taught and have never taken formal baking classes.
3. How has the response been?
Things really picked up recently. I’ve improved my marketing, leaned into social media, and received great support from my vet school classmates, friends, and family. Participating in local markets has helped me reach new people too.
4. What are your best sellers?
Definitely my cheesecakes — people rave about them! Also, my custom cakes are very popular for birthdays and special events.
5. Where do you see Sweet.TreatsTT in the next few years?
My dream is to open a modern, chic café. In the meantime, I’m focused on growing my brand locally, building strong collaborations, and expanding my customer base.
6. What makes your products unique?
I use only high-quality ingredients and really put love into each dessert. I listen to what customers want and bring their ideas to life, while also introducing new and unique flavors to the local market.

8. What’s your favorite thing to bake?
I love customizing cakes. It gives me peace and allows me to be creative. I take pride in making sure every cake is both delicious and beautiful.
