“Legacy – Aaron Duncan & The Mighty Sparrows” is this week’s big track that is creating a buzz on the worldwide soca network. Soca Fans were delighted when they saw the supreme, serenading, Calypso King of the World – The Mighty Sparrow featured in a newly released video.
Aaron is undoubtedly kicking up a storm and positioning himself as a true pacesetter in the art form. In the past month, he has released two other tracks along with videos to the songs “Freeze” and “Forever”. He also placed second to Snakey in the Diamond Jubilee Independence Calypso Monarch with a song entitled “Luv Meh Country Bad”. Getting the Mighty Sparrow out of his bed to sing on a track is quite an achievement and we must give thumbs up to Aaron. It calls for creativity in coming up with a composition to bridge the gap between the old and the new. Aaron has been able to perfect that, with a track suitable for mainstream audiences. The Chorus “this is our legacy, this is our legacy, we doing it legendary coming from you and me (repeated). At the start of the song, there is a singalong intro “Ole Ole Mama Ole (repeated)”. To add excitement to the track, there is a riddim break where The mighty Sparrow sings his familiar chants “oodayyyyy, oodayyyy, ohoh”, “yabadabadabadoya” In just three days of its release “Legacy” already has 50k views on YouTube.
