Authors in Trinidad and Tobago have a golden opportunity to advance their careers by joining the National Registry of Artists and Cultural Workers. This registry, managed by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts, offers numerous benefits such as tax exemptions, grants, and opportunities for international exposure.

Caribbean Books Foundation in colloboration with the National Registry of Artists and Cultural Workers will present a FREE sensitization session on Friday, 14 March 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the 1st Floor Seminar Room, NALIS, POS where authors can gain valuable insights into the registry and how it can support their professional growth.

Caribbean Books Foundation is an NGO which aims is to connect the Caribbean Community and its diaspora through Literature through its mission to:

  • To work with bookstores in the region to assist in the promotion and circulation of Caribbean literature.
  • To maintain an international online platform
  • To promote the work of Caribbean Authors
  • To support authors by facilitating grants, competitions and challenges while working with other literary organizations and government.
  • To work with authors, publishers and other stakeholders to increase the number of new books published every year.

This event is an excellent platform for writers to network, ask questions, and learn more about the benefits and resources available to them through the registry.

Marsha Gomes- Mckie, founder of Caribbean Books Foundation – Regional Advisor for the Caribbean South Chapter of the Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) – Registered Artist and a Writer, Artist Registry of the  Trinidad and Tobago will conduct the session.
