Fans of US-based Soca star, Devon “Lyrikal” Martin kicked off their shoes and embraced the Carnival spirit mid-year during a special unplugged live session held at The Bungalow Restaurant and Bar last week. Martin returned home to Trinidad to officially launch the Campari Red Passion campaign after being appointed as the new Campari Ambassador in February.

Commencing his hour-long set with a rousing rendition of his late 2024/2025 release, “Dotish” on the Tilden Hall Riddim, “Lyrikal” tried to deliver more subdued versions of his many hit singles, but the audience full of female admirers refused to keep calm.

A female patron present expressed that, “I’m sorry, but there’s no way I could just sit still and listen all calm and quiet. His music brings out my passion for Carnival!”

Lyrikal was all smiles on the night, as he took the stage ahead of his upcoming “Happy Place” event scheduled for Restoration Plaza in Brooklyn, New York.

More than just a campaign, the Red Passion launch is a celebration of the art of blending flavors, experiences and bold choices. Launched on May 29, 2025 at The Bungalow in St Clair, Campari invited consumers to tap into their adventurous spirit and unleash their inner creativity, redefining what it means to enjoy a cocktail.

“With this campaign, we’re encouraging people to express themselves through what they create in a glass with Campari,” said Regional Marketing Manager for Campari, Theresa Higgins-Edwards. “This campaign is about making every moment your own and embracing the bold, the unexpected, and the personal.”

Known for its vibrant red hue and unmistakable bitter-sweet profile, the Campari Red Passion campaign urges consumers to experiment with their own unique mixes of Campari and their favorite chasers.

“Everyone has a different taste, a different story, and we want that to shine through,” added AMCO’s brand manager for J.Wray & Nephew products here in Trinidad, Nichelle Grey-Smith. “Whether it’s Campari and pineapple, tonic water, or the classic Campari Orange, there’s no wrong way to enjoy our aperitif and we’re making it even easier to celebrate this refreshing taste with us.”

To make it easy for consumers to dive in, Campari recommends starting with one of its signature mixes: Campari Orange, Campari Pineapple or Campari & Tonic Water. Each mix offers a refreshing, approachable entry point to the Campari experience, which is ideal for those looking to try something new and exciting.

The Red Passion movement will continue this coming weekend in Central Trinidad with Erphaan Alves performing at the Nice Place in Couva on Saturday June 14 from 7 pm. Attendees will discover a vibrant and new way of experiencing Campari and are encouraged to follow their social media pages for fun competitions, content from the launch series and regular updates on all things Campari.
