Get ready to immerse yourself in cuisine, culture and art as Naparima Girls’ High School takes you on an artistic journey one you’re sure to leave with nothing but memories, filled hearts and satisfied stomachs.

On March 29, the grounds of Naparima Girls’ High School will transform into a vibrant island escape for “Art Island: An All-Inclusive Food & Art Festival.” From 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., San Fernando becomes the place to be, as colour, creativity and Caribbean flavour collide in one unforgettable evening.

This isn’t just another school fundraiser it’s a full-on sensory experience. Think of it as a celebration of everything we love: good food, great music, and the unmistakable warmth of local culture. It also marks a bold, exciting step for the school, building on a rich legacy that includes its iconic cookbook, a staple in many Trinidad and Tobago homes.

From the moment you arrive, your taste buds are in for a treat. Some of the country’s favourite food providers will be serving up everything from gourmet bites to beloved street food classics. Expect indulgences like live pasta stations, fluffy boas, shrimp tartlets, mini bake and shark, roast corn, hearty corn soup, and dumplings drenched in curry crab sauce. It’s the kind of menu that makes you want to try everything and then go back for seconds.

And for those with a sweet tooth? You’re covered. Decadent desserts like mango panna cotta, passion fruit cheesecake, and freshly made churros promise to keep things deliciously indulgent all evening long.

To wash it all down, there’ll be a refreshing lineup of handcrafted, non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails from iced vanilla bean matcha to popsicle lemonades, plus a classic coconut vendor to keep things authentically island.

But Art Island isn’t just about food it’s a whole vibe. The entertainment lineup is stacked, featuring performances from Nailah Blackman, Freetown Collective, Ding Dong, Erphaan Alves, Nishard M, Christo, and pan virtuoso Joshua Regrello. With energy powered by Team Joy and Cardo, the atmosphere promises to stay electric from start to finish.

Beyond the stage and the food stalls, patrons will also get a chance to explore the creative side of NGHS. Student artwork will be on display, giving guests the opportunity to meet and support the next generation of young artists.

And getting there? Easy and stress-free, stressing on FREE. Parking will be available at multiple locations including Naparima College, Grant Memorial Presbyterian School, Palm’s Club, Presentation College and the SSL Car park. A free shuttle service courtesy Go Driver, which will run continuously to and from all parking areas, making your Art Island experience smooth from arrival to departure.

At its heart, Art Island is about more than just a good time; it’s about community, creativity, and investing in the future. Proceeds from the event will go toward student programs, resources, and the continued development of the school’s facilities.

So whether you’re coming for the food, the music, the art or all three this is one event you won’t want to miss.
