The vibrant energy of soca music will be celebrated on an international stage as the 22nd edition of the International Soca Awards (ISA) takes center stage in the beautiful Bahamas. Presented by SAO Soca Awards Ltd., this year’s event promises to be a spectacular celebration of Caribbean culture and creativity. The awards will take place during Bahamas Carnival on Thursday, June 5th, from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM at the historic Fort Charlotte. At the helm is SAO CEO Colin Jackman, whose vision continues to elevate the profile of soca music and its contributors worldwide. The tropical setting adds an extra dose of excitement and glamour to an already star-studded affair.

Among the categories generating major buzz is “Soca Songwriter(s) of the Year,” which highlights some of the most prolific talents in the genre. Nominees include regional heavyweights such as Ricky T, Bunji Garlin, Mical Teja & Tano, Jason “Shaft” Bishop, and Full Blown Entertainment (Kevon & Kory Hart). These artists and teams have penned anthems that have powered fetes and carnivals across the globe, and their recognition underscores the importance of songwriting in shaping soca’s infectious spirit and rhythmic identity.

This year’s awards are also receiving international endorsement, with support from the Ministry of Culture of Trinidad and Tobago. Their backing reinforces the importance of initiatives like ISA in preserving and promoting Caribbean music heritage. With the fusion of government support, private vision, and a global stage, the International Soca Awards 2025 is poised to be one of the most memorable celebrations of Caribbean excellence to date.
