As the stages are being set (pun intended) and Tobago readies itself to welcome local and international visitors for the highly anticipated October Carnival, the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), led by Chief Secretary Farley Augustine, has made it clear: Tobago Carnival 2025 is not just an event — it’s an economic and cultural investment. With over $11.5 million already approved for the festival, stakeholders recently gathered to reaffirm their unwavering commitment to enhancing the Carnival experience and further growing Tobago’s tourism product. From structural planning to grassroots engagement, the message is unified — Tobago is ready to shine.

At a recent media briefing hosted by the Tobago Festivals Commission Limited (TFCL), key officials including Interim Secretary of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation, Assemblyman Zorisha Hackett, emphasized the Carnival’s role in community empowerment, youth engagement, and economic development. Assistant Secretary Niall George echoed this sentiment, highlighting the vital involvement of schools, village groups, and young creatives. Innovations in branding, event sequencing, and even eco-friendly mud usage are among the many enhancements promised. Dr. Charleston Thomas, newly appointed Chairman of the Tobago Carnival Advisory Team, confirmed that oversight and cultural preservation are top priorities going forward.

Stakeholders across the cultural spectrum have already begun rolling out their Carnival plans. President of TOCA, Dexter Sandy, noted record interest in both large and small mas bands, while making a call for more sailings and flights to meet growing demand. PanTrinbago’s Tobago Region announced marquee events like Pan Omega (Oct 18) and Steelpan and Powder (Oct 25), with tickets already on sale. Promoters and calypso organizations echoed enthusiasm, revealing a packed calendar of events and ongoing promotions. With preparations well underway, CEO Kern Cowan assured the public of a seamless experience focused on safety, job creation, and unforgettable visitor engagement. Tobago Carnival 2025 promises to be a celebration of culture, community, and Caribbean creativity — not to be missed.
