Valmiki Maharaj, the bandleader of The Lost Tribe, has crafted a Carnival experience that’s more than just a spectacle – it’s a movement. With a theme that explores the parallels between traditional Carnival characters and the big top circus, Valmiki’s vision is to create a sense of community and self-discovery. “It’s about people finding their center, finding community within themselves, and coming together,” he explains. With an amazing design team and collaborators like Kimmy Stoute Robinson, The Lost Tribe’s presentation is a testament to Valmiki’s dedication to storytelling and heritage.

In spite of production challenges and budget constraints, Valmiki’s passion shines through. He’s proud of what they’ve achieved, but hints at even bigger ideas, like showcasing the band’s creative process through archival pieces. For Valmiki, Carnival is about sharing knowledge and preserving history – and The Lost Tribe is just getting started.
