As we approach Carnival 2024, only four months away, numerous renowned artists are already eager to launch their latest soca tracks, with hopes of gaining popularity in time forthe upcoming festive season.
One standout on the Black Keys Riddim is the song “Holiday” by Problem Child, which continues to be a crowd favorite at parties. Also gaining significant momentum on the Black Keys Riddim are “Hot Gyal Anthem” by GBM Nutron and “Arch” by Rhea Lane. The riddim was expertly produced by Jus-Jay and Rene Nelieux Nelson from Barbados and masterfully mastered by Kasey Phillips of Precision Productions.
Another hot release to watch out for is “Banga” by Kes. The charismatic singer, Kes
Dieffenthaler, better known as KES, along with his talented brothers Jon on guitar and Hans
on drums, as well as their childhood friend Riad Boochoon on bass, are celebrated for
seamlessly blending soca, pop, rock, reggae, calypso, dancehall, and afrobeats. “Banga” is a
delightful fusion of these genres, and Kes’ smooth and captivating lyrics have already made
this track a fan favorite. Kes “Hello,” with over 40 million plays on YouTube alone, is one of
the most streamed soca songs of all time. We can only hope Banga achieve similar success.
Scheduled for release this week and already receiving airplay is “Penthouse” by Voice, a
captivating, slow-paced groovy track. The standout feature of this song is the profound and
emotionally resonant lyrics delivered by Voice, which are bound to deeply touch your heart.
In addition to “Penthouse,” Voice has previously collaborated with other talented artists on
two other tracks, namely “Your Love” with Voice, Tempoe, and Walshy Fire, and “The
Greatest Feeling” alongside Leadpipe and Saddis.

“Chuck Gordon presents ‘D’Panyard.’ You can feel the excitement of Carnival approaching when the melodic sound of steel drums resonates from the Panyard. Crowds eagerly follow the rhythmic beats to show support for their favorite steel pan bands or simply to partake in our cherished tradition of ‘liming.’ There’s an undeniable charm to the authentic, organic ‘pong-piting-pong’ of the steel drums.
