
The Tobago Festivals Commission Limited is inviting locals and visitors alike to experience the culture of Tobago during Trinidad and Tobago’s National Carnival 2026 celebrations, under the theme “Yuh Go Love Dis.”
The National Carnival activity in Tobago promises an exciting fusion of tradition, creativity and community spirit, showcasing the island’s unique identity while contributing to the overall Carnival landscape. From traditional street parades to iconic cultural showcases, the calendar of events reflects Tobago’s rich heritage, youthful energy and tradition.
The festivities begin on Friday, January 30, with the Inter-Department Personality & Calypso Competition Street Parade in Scarborough, setting the stage for the iconic THA Inter-Department Personality & Calypso Competition 2026, which will take place the following week on Thursday, February 5. This year’s competition will once again be hosted at the Parade Grounds, Dwight Yorke Stadium, with tickets priced at $150.
February’s packed schedule also features signature events such as the National Medium Band Finals, Junior Extravaganza, Windward Afro Queen Show and Calypso Monarch, and Kiddies Carnival celebrations across the island.

J’ouvert celebrations are scheduled for Carnival Monday in Roxborough and Crown Point, with additional J’ouvert activities in Calder Hall on Carnival Tuesday. The Parade of Bands and Mud Mas will take place in Roxborough on Carnival Monday and in Scarborough on Carnival Tuesday. Parades on both days will feature Contemporary, Traditional, and Ole Mas bands, each showcasing their unique costume portrayals.


Additionally, Assembly Member Zorisha Hackett, newly appointed Secretary of the Division of Tourism, Antiquities and Creative Industries, will meet with stakeholders of the National Carnival product on Wednesday, January 28, to outline plans, gather feedback, and collaborate on the continued growth and sustainability of the overall activities.
