Known to many as ‘Wadicks’, his name is Kevin Williams. This Trinidadian born and based entertainer has a generous skillset expanding from singing, dancing and being the master of ceremony at events.
Q – Besides yourself, what are your 3 favorite Soca songs for 2024 thus far?
A- My Favorites thus far are Mical Teja- DNA, Farmer Nappy – How ah Livin and Ding Dong – Head Gone
Q – Who are your top 3 favorite artists of all time to listen to?
A- Super blue, Lord Kitchener and Sparrow, Because of the music they have given us and they are people that have set the platform for Soca Artiste and Soca to reach globally.
Q – When and where and how did you realize your song was hitting this year?
A- Once any bunch of people singing your song and our biggest stage right now is social media, so once people start repost your song and use as ringtone, but it was really at a kairi People event “ BRING IT” where I was not booked to perform but was given the opportunity to grace the stage as a special guest artiste and I grasped opportunity. The people received the song so well gracefully and thankfully, it left me with no other choice but to shed a tear of joy that’s when I knew it hit.
Q- Tell us the story or inspiration behind your hit song? How did you get the concept and why/when did you decide to record it?
A-This song I actually 3 years old written by Mical Teja and produced by system 32 and given to me in pandemic and 2020, but as they say before any great thing happen everything takes a tumble and a lot happened. And by 2021 -22 I think I should release with inspiration from Mical Teja at a kairi people event “Runaway”, I was advised to shelve “beat rum bad’ as I had other songs out at the time doing well. And I would release it this year instead.
Q- Where will we find you this season? How can fans follow your progress?
A- After Kairi people I received booking for Fatima All-inclusive, Slam Stage series, GBM Nutron concert Woodford café and Experience fete and more booking are also coming in.
