M&C Saatchi Group and Saatchi Gallery announce an international art initiative artists working in the first five years of their career.

Artists 19 years and over are invited to interpret the theme Regeneration. According to the website announcing the prize :

There is no art on a dead planet

The world is reacting to the rising drumbeat of climate chaos. The issues of climate justice, social justice, and economics are now inseparable, but there are reasons to be hopeful. Climate change is finally sinking in. Citizens are demanding change. Nations, cities, communities and corporations are stepping up.

This year’s prize brings with it the opportunity to create new stories of a liveable future and motivate people to do what it takes to be a driving force for the change we need. We have the opportunity to change this to a story that inspires and empowers.

Now is the time for action. Now is the time for meaningful change.”

M&C Saatchi Group and Saatchi Gallery will award a total prize of £20,000. This will be split among six winners- five of which will receive £2,000 and one overall winner to receive £10,000.

The winners will also have the unique opportunity to exhibit their work at the prestigious Saatchi Gallery in London. The overall winner of the £10,000 prize will be announced at the end of November 2023. The exhibition will be open to the public on Wednesday 22 November 2023 until Friday 12 January 2024.
