The Second annual, Miss Sari Trinidad and Tobago Talent and Beauty Pageant, produced by Erica Caton
and Mahindra Rampersad was held last Friday, 18th October at the Southern Academy for the Performing
Arts (SAPA). The Miss Sari Trinidad and Tobago Talent and Beauty Pageant is a local competition
empowering young women through pageantry. This Beauty Pageant provides opportunities for young
women from various communities throughout Trinidad and Tobago to showcase their talent and vie for
the esteemed crown and title of Miss Sari Trinidad and Tobago. The successor becomes a brand
ambassador for the beautiful twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
In attendance was the Honourable Minister in the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs,
Senator Renuka Sagramsingh-Sooklal. The Senator, brought greetings on behalf of the Government of
Trinidad and Tobago. The Pageant founder, Erica Caton along Senator Renuka Sagramsingh-Sooklal,
Senator Richie Sookhai and Pageant Producer Mahindra Rampersad crowned, Ms. Anuska Seeth as the
new ambassador of Miss Sari Trinidad and Tobago, 2024. Miss Sari Cunupia, Diya Maharaj was titled 1st
Runner-up and Miss Sari Debe, Reanna Birbal was titled 2nd Runner up.
The platform created a space for young ladies to build self confidence in knowing that their hopes and
dreams, despite their race, gender, educational background, physical ability, religion or social status, can
be facilitated, through the Miss Sari Trinidad and Tobago competition. It was evidence that the pageant
focused on enhancing the quality of life for the young women. The organization indicated that one of
their strategies are aimed at ensuring young ladies contribute to the sustainable development of Trinidad
and Tobago, starting as leaders within their communities. Ms. Caton has now evolved the pageant
industry with the first even multicultural Indian Oriental Wear Beauty Pageant as an iconic event in
Trinidad and Tobago, showcasing young ladies from different ethnic backgrounds.
