Trinidad and Tobago-born producer/songwriter Kurtis Wells is making waves internationally and just earned songwriting credits on the latest album entitled Arirang from global K-pop powerhouse BTS.

Wells, also known as “London Future” and now based in Los Angeles, contributed to two tracks, namely “FYA” and “They Don’t Know ‘Bout Us” – thus marking a major milestone in his growing international career.

Describing the experience, Wells said the process gave him a deeper appreciation for the craft.

“As a creative, this process was very eye-opening. Not very often we get to see a lot of value put on the craft and what we take for granted—things that come from the beautiful twin islands,” he shared with Overtime Media this week.

Working alongside international collaborators came naturally, he added, noting that his work was already respected in those circles.

“In the rooms, the guys are actual fans of my work and just me in my natural element,” he revealed. “So it was very easy to just do what was supposed to be done…”

With BTS maintaining one of the largest global fanbases in music, the credit places Wells among a growing list of Caribbean creatives contributing to major international projects.

“I can’t wait for more opportunities to shine and wave that flag,” he said. “Trini To De Bone, you know.”

Wells’ journey —from Trinidad and Tobago to the US, across to Eastern Europe and now back in Los Angeles—reflects the expanding reach of Caribbean talent in the global music industry.

As more regional creatives break into international spaces, his success highlights both the potential and the importance of continued visibility for Caribbean contributors behind the scenes.
