Dis Gotta Be Mas lived up to its lofty name Saturday night.

The season-ending fete is traditionally one of the more sought-after tickets in town every Crop Over, and the hundreds of fans who landed at the grounds of Ilaro Court from as early as 6 p.m. were treated to a feast of soca from some of Barbados’ most liked artistes right until the midnight hour.

President of Barbados, the Most Honourable Dame Sandra Mason was not to be left out, joining Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley on the dance floor to shake a leg.

Popular singer Lil Rick was joined on stage by Mottley during his performance, showing extra energy a couple hours before having to venture down to Kensington Oval to perform at his own This Is Rick concert.

Moments after “getting down” with Rick, Mottley thanked patrons for bearing with the protocols associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, which had changed most people’s lives since 2020.

She noted that a chance to get out and socialise while listening to the best talent Barbados had to offer was a perfect reprieve during the sweet summer festival

“This is what allows us to breathe, and you are our magic. Thank you. We outside,” she said to Rick, which was met with loud applause.

Along with Lil Rick, patrons on the grounds of the Prime Minister’s official residence were also treated to performances from Queen of Soca, Allison Hinds, Biggie Irie, TC, Edwin Yearwood, Nikita, King Bubba, and Mikey.
