Mighty Sparrow & Shurwayne Winchester – Tobago Gyal
All of us have a deep admiration for the legendary Mighty Sparrow, and the soca community has been eagerly anticipating a new release from this iconic artist for quite some time. Shurwayne Winchester in a new release have made a remarkable tribute to Sparrow by incorporating his voice into the introduction and chorus of a remake of “Tobago Gyal.” In 2022, Rem Bunction also attempted a remix of “Tobago Gyal” featuring Sparrow’s vocals, but it unfortunately received minimal airplay. Only time will reveal whether this latest rendition will gain traction on the radio waves. The release came just in
time for Tobago’s Carnival and will surely get some love in the sister island.
