The dress code was white, but this was anything but a test match — it was glamour, rhythm and revelry. At the exquisite Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort in Tobago, elegantly attired ladies and gentlemen stepped out for the NIRVANA Fête en Blanc, a night of sophistication and celebration. According to the event’s listing, the vibe was “elegance and indulgence… the ultimate all-inclusive experience.”
Though a few early downpours threatened to dampen spirits, they only added to the atmosphere after all, “rain only stops cricket,” and in this case it only heightened the energy and anticipation of the evening.

From the moment the parking area filled to capacity and the A-Team Band kicked things off, the tone was set. Frontline artistes like Joel “ZAN” Fevek , Veteran Farmer Nappy and newcomer Christina James took the audience on a musical journey, warming up the crowd so effectively the raindrops were barely noticed. Then came Shal, followed by an explosive set from Lyrikal that had the crowd soaring into the clouds. When soca queen Patrice Roberts graced the stage, the audience erupted — as she delivered her repertoire of hits, attendees sang, danced and lost themselves in the moment. The A team band has definitely secured themselves as the band for all and ay occasions.

The NIRVANA team clearly listened to feedback from last year. Bar service was significantly improved: more staff, expanded space, separate food areas, added cabanas for specially invited guests — including dignitaries such as Transport Commissioner Clive Clarke, ACP Oswain Subero, Deputy Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin and THA Minority Leader Kelvon Morris and his stunning wife. With VIP service throughout the beautifully decorated venue and extra dancing space created for patrons, nothing was left to chance.
An excellent evening was indeed had — a formidable launchpad for yet another successful Tobago Carnival season, and a standout on the Tobago Carnival Landscape as the number one premium inclusive on its events calendar.
