HER Magazine

Fashion designer and stylist, Azizah Mohammed recently premiered her latest collection-The Mirror. A collection inspired by the excessive use of social media, the collection tells the story of self-acceptance, the designer told Her Magazine.

‘It has been noted that frequent use of social media may promote negative feelings such as inadequacy about our life or appearance. ‘When you look into the mirror there is a magnificent, beautiful work of art staring at you. An art work that is covered with intricate details, a little mystery, some vagueness, some fantasy, and an abundance of labour filled with commitment and love. ‘The world is a complicated contra- diction. It is difficult to do anything that is absolutely right. The only measure of rightness is the truth within ourselves. And our own truth will never be quite the same as another. This is your bravery test.

To look at yourself for who you are, and wholly fall in love with your own reality.’

Into The Mirror brings a variation of pastels, earthy colours with a hint of pink.

‘Soft colours were chosen to represent the delicate nature of remembering who you are, and who you have chosen to become,’ the designer explained.

‘The fabrics used are resilient, durable and range from knitted to woven.’
