Carnival may be over, but one of the many songs that has lived on and become a certified hit — especially with the ladies whenever they hear the line, “Darling yuh too sweet like a spoon ah pure honey” — is “Action” by rising artiste Kimi. As he continues to enjoy an upward trend in his career, the singer is still feeling the effects of what has been a breakthrough season. Following an electric 2025/26 Carnival campaign fueled by the popularity of “Action”, Kimi continues to ride a wave of momentum as he enters an exciting new chapter in his musical journey.
What makes the success even more remarkable is that the artiste never imagined the song would reach the level it has today. “No, never in a lifetime would I have imagined ‘Action’ reaching this level of success,” Kimi admitted. “Seeing the response from fans, DJs and the entire soca community has been truly humbling.” While the song received support during the Carnival season, many believe it was after Carnival that “Action” was allowed to breathe and truly find its audience. Kimi agrees that the track’s growth accelerated in the latter stages of the season and beyond.
According to the singer, “Action” was not in heavy rotation until the latter half of Trinidad’s 2025/26 Carnival season. He credits the incredible support of DJs both locally and internationally, the hard work of his team, and the overwhelming love from soca fans for helping to push the song forward. That support extended far beyond radio airplay. Social media played a significant role in taking the song to new audiences, with videos and posts appearing from different parts of the Caribbean and around the world. For Kimi, seeing people connect with the music organically has been one of the most rewarding aspects of the experience.
“The way people connected with it and shared it across social media from different parts of the world really brought it to the forefront,” he said. “Watching that organic growth has been one of the most special parts of this journey.”
As the popularity of “Action” continued to grow, so too did the opportunities that came with it. One of the standout moments for the young artiste came at the R&B Brunch Festival 2026, an event he describes as one of the most memorable performances of his career so far. The festival provided an opportunity to showcase a different side of his talent and reminded him of the versatility he possesses as an entertainer.

“My most memorable event to date would have to be the R&B Brunch Festival 2026,” Kimi said. “Being able to showcase a different side of my vocal abilities and connect with the audience in that space was a surreal experience. It reminded me of the versatility I have as an artiste and the different places music can take me.”
Now, with the success of “Action” continuing to carry strong energy into the summer months, Kimi’s name remains in circulation both locally and across the region. International bookings are beginning to open up, with performances scheduled both at home and throughout the Caribbean. At the same time, fans have been closely following the singer’s social media pages, where he has been teasing upcoming visuals and dropping subtle hints about a major new project currently in the works.
Adding to the anticipation are collaborations involving some of soca’s biggest names. With Machel Montano and Voice expected to be part of upcoming projects, alongside production from Tano, Mega Mick and Anson Pro, excitement is already building about what the artiste will deliver next. While “Action” continues to keep crowds moving, supporters have been calling for more music, and Kimi appears ready to answer that call. With new projects on the horizon, growing regional exposure and a hit song that refuses to slow down, the rising star is positioning himself as one of the artistes to watch beyond the Carnival season.
For Kimi, the success of “Action” may have started during Carnival, but its impact is proving that some songs are capable of creating momentum long after the last masquerader has left the road. And if the buzz surrounding his next moves is any indication, the action is only just beginning.
