Eddie Charles, a seasoned entertainer in Trinidad and Tobago’s music industry, boasts a remarkable career spanning over 25 years. Born on January 21st, 1972, Eddie is renowned for his versatility as an entertainer and soca artist, proficient in a range of genres, including Soca, R&B, Chutney, and Reggae. Although Eddie has taken a liking to R & B and reggae he is best known for his contributions to Soca and Soca Parang. Eddie’s musical journey commenced at the age of 10 when he joined the parang band “Los Pericos” and participated in Christmas events, showcasing his early talent in both parang and soca music.

His involvement with the Malick Folk Performers followed, a path illuminated by his family’s deep connection to music, with his father as a musician and his eldest brother as a singer he was
destined to have a musical career.
Growing up in Santa Cruz, Eddie attended Bourg Mulatresse R C School, later graduating from Barataria Junior Secondary and San Juan Senior Comprehensive. Despite his passion for music, Eddie initially pursued a career as a machine operator before eventually dedicating himself to music on a full- time basis.

Throughout the years, Eddie’s musical trajectory has been marked by consistent growth. He has been a key member of various bands, including “Traffik” and Soca Unit, and stands as a founding member and frontline singer for the A Team Band. Beyond group affiliations, Eddie has also cultivated a successful solo career, performing globally and proudly representing Trinidad and Tobago in cities like New York, Baltimore, Houston Texas, Los Angeles, and Toronto.


A family man at heart, entrepreneurship, and his on-stage persona, Eddie has made an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. As a true performer, he is known for infusing energy and vibrancy into every event, earning him the reputation as a seasoned veteran. Eddie has left no stone unturned as he has solidified his mark on the industry. He brings the “bacchanal and vibes” to
every event.

In 2023, Eddie’s musical endeavors continue to thrive, with the release of his soca parang tracks “She Want It Hard” and “Salty Xmas.” Looking ahead to Carnival season 2024, Eddie has unveiled a collection of tracks poised to captivate both young and mature audiences. Notable releases include “Sting-a- Nettle” on the Bagpipe Riddim, “Euphoria” written by Kernal Roberts, “Show
Off” in collaboration with Gevon, “We Ting” featuring Preston, and “Wine on Somebody” featuring Traffik 2040.

In 2023, Eddie transitioned from the A Team Band and breathed new life into the band Traffik., After being dormant for many years, he has re-branded his previous band as Traffik 2040. Traffik 2040 has been on the forefront of promoters and he has performed at a few events thus far.

The band has quickly gained prominence, participating in events such as “Bougie” during Tobago Carnival 2023 and the launch of Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2024 at Queens Park Savannah in November 2023. Eddie’s momentum is undeniable as he anticipates an unforgettable Carnival in 2024 and beyond. Eddie continues to move at an undeniable pace and looks forward to an unforgettable carnival 2024 and beyond.
