For over a decade, the name Karene Asche has been synonymous with calypso and with excellence on stage and off.
In 2024, this legendary vocalist has contributed the calypso “No Excuse” and received a great response thus far. She chatted with Express/Vibes photojournalist Jermaine Cruickshank recently and you can check out their full interview conversation online at vibes.

“This year, I will be performing at the Kaiso House tent, fondly dubbed ‘The Savannah Grass’. I always have surprises for the public and fans so please come and experience the modernised Kaiso House tent this year. I did two soca songs: one on the Bhangraton Riddim called ‘No Business Dey’ and ‘Likkle Bit’ on the Girl Cast Riddim. I have not done any collaborations this year, but definitely have some ideas and intentions to do some next year. So stay tuned… As for fetes…”
