As October rolls around, it marks the beginning of the festive season in the music industry. This is the time when artists kick off the holiday spirit by releasing tracks tailored for both Christmas and Carnival celebrations.

The music scene in the islands is buzzing with a plethora of new tunes, with artists from Barbados, Grenada, St. Vincent, and St. Lucia leading the charge.

A song that has made a break through from Crop over and is kicking up a storm both local and foreign is Problem Child – “Holiday” on the (Black Keys Riddim).

Surprisingly, some Trinidad and Tobago artists have been dropping tracks as early as June. However, there’s a lamentable twist to this tale as our local radio stations have yet to embrace these local talents, leaving many of these promising songs languishing unheard, risking them fading into obscurity.
Despite the absence of radio airplay, music enthusiasts can head to YouTube to listen to these tracks and form their own opinions about the songs.

Deneyse Plummer, before her passing, offered valuable advice to fellow artists: the period both before and after the carnival season presents a unique opportunity to explore diverse musical genres. She encouraged artists to create songs with enduring appeal, ones that are uplifting and capable of
being appreciated even two decades down the road.

So, lets dig in and see what’s happening in the Soca & Parang World.
